Homecoming Host Hotel

Below is the link to book rooms at the Tucson Marriott University Park during Homecoming. It is a special rate of $169 but the room availability is limited and applies to the dates November 2 to 6, 2011. Reservation deadline is October 1, 2011 (based on availability).

Thursday, Nov. 3

6 - 8 p.m. — CHANGE IN LOCATION

Class of 1961 Reunion Reception at the Arizona Historical Society — Please note: the LOCATION of the reception has been CHANGED to the Marriott University Park Hotel, 880 E. Second Street, Tucson, AZ — The UA reunion class of 1961 commemorates its 50-year anniversary with a reception celebration at the Marriott University Park Hotel, our Homecoming host hotel. Friday, Nov. 4

9 - 11 a.m.

Wildcat Family Founders Celebration at the Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson Building, Room 205. The University of Arizona Alumni Association is hosting a celebration to honor our Wildcat Family Founders members during the Homecoming 2011 festivities. By invitation only. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Second Annual Collegiate and Campus Showcase — Celebrate excellence at the UA with a day of campus presentations, lectures, and tours that are free and open to the public. UA faculty and staff members share their expertise on a broad range of topics including world-class research and discovery, current and historical perspectives, and campus life and cultural outreach.

11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Homecoming 2011 All-Class Luncheon — Featuring a special performance by students from the College of Fine Arts School of Theatre, Film & Television. Student Union Grand Ballroom South.

3 - 5 p.m.

Alumnus of the Year Awards Ceremony — Celebrate the extraordinary achievements and contributions of alumni to their colleges. Student Union Grand Ballroom South.

5 - 7 p.m.

Bear Down Fridays on University Boulevard — Join Wilbur, Wilma, cleerleaders, and the UA Pep Marching Band in Main Gate Square to kickoff the evening celebrations.

7:30 - 8 p.m.

Bonfire and Pep Rally — Join us for the Homecoming Kickoff Celebration at Old Main, including the traditional bonfire, pep rally, and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.

Saturday, Nov. 5

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Tents on the Mall — This great UA tradition features student and alumni organizations, colleges and academic units, and a central food court. The fun begins six hours prior to kickoff.

11 a.m.- noon

Featured Homecoming Author — UA President Emeritus Peter Likins shares the intriguing story of his diverse family life and answers your questions at the UA Bookstore.

12:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Homecoming Parade — An exciting UA tradition featuring floats created by student organizations and colleges, the UA Marching Band, the UA Alumni Band, the grand marshall and other dignitaries, and Homecoming Royalty.

2 - 3 p.m.

1st Annual Homecoming Wildcat Fashion Show — Starts right after the Homecoming Parade at Alumni Plaza. See UA students model all the latest UA gear and learn how to make your own unique creations. This event will feature: • Fashion Show showcasing UA gear • Create and Design booth — cut, bedazzle, and create your own design! • Homecoming t-shirt sale • Prizes and giveaways. BRING A T-SHIRT! During and after the fashion show, we will be hosting a Create and Design booth where UA students will help YOU create the looks you love to see on campus. The UA Alumni Association will be selling homecoming t-shirts for $20, so you have the chance to customize a t-shirt right on the spot.

4 p.m.

Homecoming Football Game — A new Pac-12 rival at the Homecoming football game — Arizona vs. Utah. (Includes TV coverage.)

Football Game Ticket Information

For all alumni and the general public

Individual game tickets for the 2011 season go on sale exclusively online at Arizona Wildcats Website on Saturday, August 13 at 10 a.m., and by phone at 520-621-2287, and at the McKale Ticket Office beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 15. Wildcat Club members and season ticket holders will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase individual game tickets before the general public.

The University of Arizona Alumni Association dedicates the 2011 Collegiate and Campus Showcase to UA alumni, friends, and the Tucson community, in honor of all those who came before to help make the UA what it is today.

The Collegiate and Campus Showcase celebrates excellence at the University of Arizona with presentations, lectures, and tours by academic colleges, institutions, and non-academic campus units. Presentations by UA faculty and staff range from 45 minutes to one hour and are free and open to the public.

A listing of the participating UA colleges, institutes, and campus units is available here on this UA Homecoming website, and also appears in the Fall 2011 issue of Arizona Alumnus magazine. Websites and contact information are listed with each entry, and are updated regularly with the most current information available.
